Susan Morecock Perkinson, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Morecock and Joseph Edwin Perkinson.

Susan was a retired teacher. She was dedicated to her mother and aunts during their elderly years in declining health. Susan loved gardening, throughout her entire life. She was also very generous to others in their times of need.

Susan is survived by her brother, William E. Perkinson and his wife, Mary Pate Perkinson, of Chester, VA; her niece, Rebecca Anne Perkinson of Chester, VA; her nephew, William Edwin Perkinson, Jr. and his wife, Christina Van der Kamp Perkinson, of Pendleton, OR; her great-niece, Maggie Beth Perkinson, and her great-nephew, William Conrad Perkinson; also surviving is her special friend, Shirley Campbell of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Billy Howell officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Susan may be made to the American Red Cross.
